Guardians of the Galaxy: The Universal Weapon
Join Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, Gamora and Drax in an all-new adventure: Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Universal Weapon! Jump into battle to help the Guardians recover the five pieces of The Universal Weapon before it falls into the hands of the villainous Ronan the Accuser!
GotG is a mobile game connected to the first Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1 film, the first ever Guardians gaming experience. The game is a tie-in to the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy movie, featuring character designs and music similar to that film. But also incoporates elements from Earth-616, specifically the Planet Hulk storyline.
Problem Statement: Need to deliver a first ever best in class Guardians gaming experience that supports building a Guardians fan base and is exemplified as an award winning Marvel gaming experience.
Scope: As overall Product Owner, led small internal product team and a Chinese based game developer to concept, drive creative direction, then build, localize and launch the game on a global stage.
Results: The game met the global launch on iOS, Android and Windows on schedule in time with the release of the film. The game earned top 10 spot in the App Store and in Google Play.
